INTERACTIVE COOKING CLASSES · FUNCTIONAL NUTRITION
Where Functional Medicine Meets Real Life.
Most nutrition advice happens across an exam table. Ours happens at a kitchen counter … a nurse practitioner and a chef, teaching you to cook the foods that actually support your health. Together, at the table.

WHY KITCHEN TABLE WELLNESS
You already know food matters.
We help you close the gap between knowing and doing.
Knowing what's healthy and knowing how to cook it are two very different things.
I'm a functional medicine nurse practitioner, and Sharon is a classically trained chef. Together, we teach you to actually cook the foods that support your health — instead of just handing you a list of what to eat.
As we cook, I share the why behind every ingredient: what it does in your body, how to shop for it, why it matters. Sharon makes sure it's genuinely delicious. No lectures. No shame. Just real food, real skills, and real conversation.
And the table itself matters too. You'll cook alongside other people, sit down together, and share a meal — phones away. That connection isn't a bonus. It's part of the medicine.
A nurse practitioner and a chef, at every single class.Who It’s For
Three chairs at the same table.
People come to Kitchen Table Wellness from different places — but they share one thing: they know food matters for their health, and they’re ready to do something about it.
Managing a Condition
IBS, autoimmune disease, diabetes, thyroid issues, hypertension, cancer. You need more than a diet handout — you need hope that food can actually make a difference, and practical skills you can sustain for the long haul.
Navigating the Change
Perimenopause and menopause change the rules. You want to feel understood, learn what’s actually happening in your body, and get concrete guidance on what to eat to support the transition.
Staying Ahead of It
No diagnosis — and you’d like to keep it that way. You’re prevention and longevity-minded, curious, and looking for a like-minded community that takes feeling good as seriously as you do.
Whichever chair is yours — everyone’s welcome at the table.
THE CLASS
A really good dinner party — where you also learn something that changes how you eat.
Every class is interaction and taught by both of us, start to finish. Here's how the evening flows:
Cook it, hands-on
Chef Sharon guides every knife cut, sauté, and sauce — whether you've never held a chef's knife or you cook every night. This is a class to learn in, not perform in.
Learn the why
As you cook, Monica shares what each ingredient does in your body, how to shop for it, and how it connects to your health — in plain English, never a lecture.
Sit down & share it
The night ends the way the best nights do: around the table, phones away, eating what you made with the people you made it with — and take-home recipes so you can do it again.

Monica
FNP-C · IFMCP
Monica is a Family Nurse Practitioner and certified functional medicine provider. After years of telling patients to "eat healthier" across an exam table, she built Kitchen Table Wellness to finally teach the part that advice always skips: how.
In class, she's your translator — turning nutrition science into plain-English answers about what each ingredient does in your body and why it matters for yours.
Chef Sharon Tutko

GOOD QUESTIONS
Everything you're wondering before you book.
-
Not at all. Kitchen Table Wellness started as something Monica wanted to share with her own patients, but the table is open to everyone in the St. Louis community — whether you're managing a health condition, navigating a life stage like perimenopause, or simply want to eat better and feel your best. If you're curious about food and health, you belong here.
-
Not even a little. Chef Sharon guides every step, so whether you've never held a knife or you cook every night, you'll leave with new skills and a full plate. This is a class to learn in, not to perform in.
-
Just let us know when you register. Chef Sharon builds substitutions into every class — dairy-free, gluten-free, and other common swaps are easy to accommodate. Good food should work for your body, not against it.
-
Interactive cooking, a shared sit-down meal, and take-home education — including the recipes and the nutrition "why" behind them, so you can recreate everything in your own kitchen.

Classes are held at various participating kitchens. Locations will be disclosed at time of booking. Classes run about 3 hours.

Right now, each class stands on its own — no series or commitment required. Come to one, or come to every single one we offer. Down the road, we'll be adding themed series for people who want to go deeper on a specific topic (think thyroid health, diabetes, or eating through cancer treatment), but for now it's simple: show up whenever a class speaks to you.
-
Easy — head to our classes page, pick a class, and save your seat. Classes are intentionally small, so they do fill up.
